CORPUS CHRISTI - Wednesday marked the third and final day of the 2012 MLB Draft and once more the pro scouts honed in on Coastal Bend talent.
Former Moody star Rudy Flores was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 21st round with the 663rd pick, while Texas A&M-Kingsville's Jaden Dillon was selected in the 29th round by the Atlanta Braves.
Flores only played in three games for Florida International this season after being a preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Selection. He battled injury and an off the field issue.
Dillon, a transfer from McNeese State, finished with 8-wins and a 2.56 ERA.
All in all 7 area baseball players were taken in this year's draft.
Carroll's Courtney Hawkins, Calallen's Wyatt Mathisen, former Calallen star and current Oklahoma pitcher Jordan John, A&M-Corpus Christi pitcher Daniel Minor and former Sinton standout Anthony Banda turned San Jacinto College star signed on the first and second days.
