DALLAS (AP) - Two Dallas police officers have been hospitalized after a crash involving a third driver on Interstate 35E.

Motorcycle Officers Wayne Nichols and Michael Keating were driving side-by-side on northbound I-35E just after 12 p.m. Tuesday when the accident occurred. Police say the driver of a Toyota Camry in an adjacent lane swerved to avoid a car braking suddenly in front of her.

The Camry hit one of the motorcycle officers, sending his bike into the other officer.

Both officers and the driver were taken to area hospitals.

None of their injuries appear to be life threatening.

An investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed.

Traffic on I-35E was briefly stopped around the accident site south of downtown.
