ORANGE GROVE -- There's a developing story out of Orange Grove where an 18-month-old little girl died in what appears to be a tragic accident.
At this point, there are more questions than answers, but we did confirm some of the facts from the police chief tonight.
He said someone -- in a vehicle -- hit the child in front of her home in the 200 Block of Armstrong this afternoon around 4:30 p.m.
The chief did not say how the child got outside of her home and into the parking lot where she was hit.
Medics performed CPR on the girl but she didn't survive.
Investigators talked with a person possibly involved, but say it was likely just an accident.
And that's about all they're telling us right now.
Neighbors say family members were at the hospital in Alice and didn't want to make a comment right now but did ask for the community's prayers.
