CORPUS CHRISTI -- A Corpus Christi police officer found himself on the other side of the law early this morning.
48-year-old Hector Corona -- a 17 year veteran of the department -- was arrested for DWI.
An officer pulled him over for driving unsafely on SPID at Nile.
That's when the cop says he noticed signs that Corona was drinking.
He also recognized him as an off-duty officer.
He'll be placed on restricted duty while an internal investigation is done.
Chief Floyd Simpson -- according to a CCPD statement -- will not tolerate drinking and driving in the community regardless of who may be involved.
