13-Year-Old Hits Police Car Headed to Backup Call

CORPUS CHRISTI - One of our viewers sent us video of an accident last night involving a Corpus Christi police officer. Iit was just after 11:30 last night when the viewer shot the video on the 1600 block of Shoreline Boulevard.

The officer was headed to backup another officer on a nearby traffic stop when he moved to take a left turn, but the driver in the far left lane did not stop and crashed right into his partol car.

The lane is a left turn only lane but the driver kept going straight when the officer turned on his lights.

The driver was a 13-year-old girl. She's been ticketed for driving without a license, driving without insurance, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and giving police a false name.

She was also cited for curfew violation along with another 13 year old and a 16 year old who were in the car with her. No one was hurt.
