BEN BOLT - 18-year old Rianna Rios has known what she wanted since she was a kid. Her dream was the Olympics, and now she's taking a giant leap towards reaching that dream by joining the Army and the Army's highly respected World Class Athlete Program.
"I think I was 10 years old and I wrote a list I want to accomplish and that's all I have to scratch off, a gold medal in the Olympics," said Rios.
Rios, who is ranked 2nd nationally in her weight division, has really turned heads at the Army. Coaches told her that she is the first fighter they can recall who came off the street rather than applying.
"It took me a while to decide on whether or not I wanted to do it. I though about it for 2 months but to be able to be a soldier defending my country I also get to box which is my dream to fight in the Olympics it's a big thing for me," said Rios.
She'll take off in August for boot camp, then after basic training she'll head to Colorado where she will literally eat, sleep, and breathe boxing.
We'll keep you posted on her journey to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
