CORPUS CHRISTI - On Wednesday the Corpus Christi Hooks announced their 2013 Preseason High School Baseball and Softball Teams at their annual Winter Banquet.
They also awarded Carroll Head Coach Lee Yegger their Big School Coach of the Year, and John Paul II Head Coach Steve Castillo their Small School Coach of the Year.
Flour Bluff's Rivers Ewing earned the 2013 Matt Beveridge Award (given for the player the best exhibits character, courage, leadership in spirit), Astros Legendary Play by Play Man Milo Hamilton earned the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award, A&M-Kingsville Pitcher Cameron Dullnig was named Javelinas Player of the Year, Daniel Minor was named A&M-Corpus Christi Player of the Year, Jose Martinez was honored as the Hooks Player of the Year, Jason Stoffel was named Hooks Pitcher of the Year, and former Calallen standout Logan Verrett was named the 2013 Mike Adams Professional Player of the Year.
