ALICE - The 2013 High School Softball season officially opened on Monday morning as UIL sanctioned practices began.

The Alice Lady Coyotes are one of the many teams in rebuilding mode this year, after graduating the majority of their history making 2012 squad.

"We lost 8 or 9 seniors so its gonna be tough to fill in their spots but we'll do it," said Center Fielder Bianca Molina

Head Coach April Atterberry's squad reached the regional round last season and hopes that this year's squad can repeat, but that road will be bumpy early on as Alice will be inexperienced, plus will be without some of their best players who will be on the basketball court for at least a few more weeks.

"It's definitely hard to be better than last year so it's just gonna be difficult to regain what we lost," said Utility Player Lisette Lynch.

"I know we have a lot of youngsters but they can play they are good with the glove we just gotta work with our bats but I think we can do it," said Shortstop Alexis Villarreal.
