Man Bites Woman In The Face and Takes Off Running Naked

CORPUS CHRISTI -- A bizarre chain of events unfolded this evening at Prescott and 18th Street.

Police say a man high on marijuana laced with formaldehyde tried to carjack a woman, but a neighbor helped to save the victim and her car.

Officers say the suspect jumped into the passenger's side of the woman's car, which was stopped at Prescott and 18th Street.

We're told he bit her on the face and beat her while trying to take her car.

A nearby neighbor heard the victim screaming.

Brenda Gonzales said, "She was bleeding all over her face like he had bit her over the eye. A big chunk looked like it had been lifted up and he was beating her so...it was just awful. He was beating her so loud that it sounded like when you hit a pumpkin, that sound. I'll just never forget it."

Gonzales said she grabbed her son's taser gun and ran to help.

She said, "I opened the door and the guy was in there beating her really bad and stepping on the accelerator of the gas and was going...the sound was awful. So I told him let go of her, I have a taser. So, when he looked at me and saw I had it in my hand, he took off running."

Cops say when the suspect ran, he also took off all his clothes.

Police got a call for a naked man running down Morgan.

They soon realized the man was responsible for much more than just streaking.

Witnesses identified him as the person who assaulted the woman.

The victim's boyfriend says she was on the way to his house when the man attacked her.

Jesse Limon said, "He's an idiot you know? I mean I am so upset right now. I can't even express my feelings right now in words. I'm very upset."

The victim went to the hospital.

She's expected to recover.

Officers arrested the man and say he'll be charged with aggravated assault.
