LAREDO - A controversial, third period Laredo Bucks goal forced overtime on Tuesday afternoon as the Bucks edged the Corpus Christi IceRays 4-3 in a shootout. CORPUS CHRISTI - 7 people are sent to the hospital after a major accident at Clarkwood and Highway 44.

The collision happened around 7 o'clock after the driver of the car ran the stop sign and slammed into a white truck.

The passengers of the truck had to be cut out with the jaws of life after being stuck inside. Two of the seven victims are listed in serious condition, but everyone is expected to recover.

CORPUS CHRISTI - IceRays forward R.G. Flath would have loved the ending to Corpus Christi's 6-2 Thursday night victory over the Amarillo Gorillas.

Filling in that one-point gap has been a problem a lot this year.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Jeff Alcombrack's return the the IceRays lineup might be a ways off. The defenseman will travel to Houston Friday to get checked out by Astros team doctors, to see if they can help clear up a nagging lower body injury.

Head Coach Brent Hughes calls it a "real mystery", as doctors are even looking into whether Alcombrack is getting enough blood flow to his hip socket.

Icerays captain Justin Quenneville has been named a CHL All-Star for the second time in his four seasons in Corpus Christi.

The 26-year-old forward from Montreal is tied for the team lead in points with 22, scoring 11 goals and tallying 11 assists in 28 games.

Quenneville will skate for the South Texas squad, which will be made up of players from Laredo, Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley. The opposing team will be comprised of players from the remaining 12 CHL teams.
