CORPUS CHRISTI - Former Calallen and TCU pitcher Sean Hoelscher will have to wait to pitch for the Islanders baseball team.
According to Head Coach Scott Malone, the NCAA denied Hoelscher's request for a hardship waiver, which would have allowed him to play this year instead of sitting out a season, the usual protocol for athletes transferring between Division One schools.
A freshman All-American for the Horned Frogs in 2008, Hoelscher went 2-2 with 22 strikeouts for TCU as a … Click to Read More

PORTLAND - At first glance the Gregory Portland boy's basketball could pass for a junior varsity team. Not because of their play, but strictly their team size, with their tallest player barely checking in at 6'4".
"I think a lot of people look at us and go wow that's a bunch of short little skinny guys that can't play very well and can't muscle up, but we work out hard and we are actually pretty strong," said Head Coach Mark Spencer.
