go shibata memorial texas a&m judo tournament - college station, tx.

on october 13, 2012 christian konoval fought hard and fast with focus and determination! that is why he is the new junior 9-10 yr. old heavyweight champion!!! christian did a great job on his performance at the go shibata memorial texas a&m judo tournament. he threw his opponent for a full point ippon with ippon seoi nage on his first match! a beautiful set up, exactly the way we trained it to be! second match was him having to be defensive and cautious. his opponent kept attacking with vigor, but he made a mistake and christian was right there ready to capitalize on it. he threw his opponent back and landed on him with mune gatame (hold down). he squeezed his opponent for 25 solid seconds and won the match with another ippon!!!!! christian did a fantastic job and i am proud to call him my student. i am honored that he fought under my name and represented my school the "judo institute" thank you christian and congratulations on becoming a go shibata judo champion!!!
