CORPUS CHRISTI -- A man crashed into a concrete barricade downtown Thursday before taking off on foot with his two passengers.
Robert Moore struck a barricade on Upper Broadway Street about two o'clock after speeding down Leopard Street at nearly 70 m.p.h. with a blown tire, police said.
"It was crazy. I mean, it almost looked like a movie," said Lou Copas, who was standing nearby when the 2006 Buick Lucerne hit the barricade. "It [the car] just shot right through Upper Broadway, and it didn't even try to turn."
Moore said he was taking medication for the Flu which caused him to lose control of the car. "I was under the influence of NyQuil -- all types of stuff."
Moore and his two passengers took off in different directions after the crash. Moore was caught on the I-37 overpass; the others were caught at the intersection of Leopard and Tancahua Streets, police said.
Police found what they said appears to be liquid PCP in the car, but they said they would have to send it to a lab for testing to be sure.
Moore is charged with evading arrest. Charges are pending against his passengers.

CORPUS CHRISTI - Three people are in police custody after crashing a car into the barrier that separates uptown Corpus Christi from downtown. Reporter Caroline Flores witnessed the car zip by Corpus Christi City Hall around 70 mph with a flat tire.
She and her photographer followed the vehicle as it slammed into the wall at the intersection of N. Upper Broadway and Leopard Street.
Two men and one woman got out of the car and fled the scene on foot. Our crew followed the driver as he tried to calmly walk away from the crash through uptown.
We asked about what just happened, but he wanted us to leave him alone. Our crew eventually flagged down police officers who took the man into custody.
He told us, "I had the flu -- pneumonia. You look at my driver's seat (inaudible) I was under the influence of Nyquil all types of stuff. I was trying to make this corner to come down here to play some tickets I crashed my car. I apologize to the city."
Everyone in the car was pretty fortunate the vehicle did not go through the wall and land in the street below. Police caught up with the other man and woman who left the scene near the Nueces County Courthouse.
Inside the vehicle, officers say they find a liquid substance believed to be PCP, but will need further testing to confirm what it is.

CORPUS CHRISTI - A photographer and reporter for Action 10 News witnessed the crash of a vehicle that was seen speeding excessively down Leopard Street past Corpus Christi City Hall this afternoon.
It was not only odd that the car was speeding, but one of the tires was already flat. Thinking the vehicle was being chased by police, our crew followed at a safe distance until the speeding car crashed at Leopard St. and North Upper Broadway.
There were three people who got out of the vehicle after the crash. Our crew followed one of the guys as he walked down the street. He did not want to answer our questions and acted surprised that we wanted to talk to him.
The crew flagged down police who were responding to the crash to let them know where to find one of the people who was in the car.
The Buick hit the retaining wall separating uptown from the downtown area. Those in the car are lucky it did not go through the barrier onto the street below.
As of right now, there are two men and one woman in police custody for the incident.
