CORPUS CHRISTI- All eyes are on the first cold front of the season which is currently located in the Rockies and is scheduled here in South Texas on Friday morning. Ahead of the front warm humid air will stream northward and will result in it feeling like summer the next couple of days. A line of showers and thunderstorms will sweep the area Thursday night and Friday morning. Northerly winds will herald the arrival of the front with cooler air and lower humidity for the weekend.

Tonight we will have fair skies warm and sticky with a low of 75.

Wednesday we will have more sun breezy humid and hotter with only a stray shower and a high near 90.

Wednesday night expect a gentle breeze rather warm and stuffy with a low of 77.

Thursday we will have considerable sunshine breezy hot and humid with a high of 92.

Significant thundershowers have been affecting South Texas most of the afternoon. Rainfall total of 2 to 4 inches have been reported. Four inches of rain reported in Kingsville. Flooding has been a problem in Corpus Christi.

The thundershowers will begin to decrease tonight as the upper storm system begins to pull out of the area. Tonight, look for decreasing showers. Low 72.

Sunday will see a few left over showers early in the day but partly sunny skies expected by afternoon . High 88.

Monday and Tuesday will be warm and steamy as the sun comes back. Highs near 90.

In addition to the thundershowers, we have a strong Rip Current Advisory and a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect. Beach clean up efforts will be affected by very high tides reaching up tot the dunes in some spots. Keep your eyes on the tides.

The rain will come to an end for the latter half of the weekend into next week.

Thursday expect increasing cloudiness a gentle breeze more humid with scattered thundershowers developing during the afternoon and evening and a high of only 86.

Thursday night showers and thundershowers will be likely and locally heavy near the coast with a low of 72.

Friday we will have lots of clouds very humid with scattered to numerous thundershowers (mainly near the coast) and a high of only 84.

Winds will continue to be lighter than normal except near the heavier rain showers.

Eventually tropical moisture will return to the area from the Gulf by the end of the week with a few showers mainly near the coast along with higher humidity. Our autumnal equinox officially begins at 9:29 pm CDT tonight and Tuesday will be the first full day of Fall.

Tonight will be mostly clear with less wind and comfortable with a low of 72.

Tuesday with the exception of a stray morning shower, a mix of clouds and sunshine a little less humid and a seasonal high of 88.

Tuesday night we will have fair skies and almost cool with a low near 70.

As a weak disturbance moves across the area we will see another round or rainfall activity on Saturday before it rapidly diminishes on Sunday (the direst day of the weekend) and completely dries out Monday and Tuesday of next week. A weak front will approach then dissipate north of the area Tuesday with moisture and rain returning Wednesday thru the end of next week.

Expect scattered thundershowers re-developing overnight, warm and sticky with a low of 76.

Saturday we will once again have scattered thundershowers (not all areas get wet) otherwise variable sunshine hot and humid with light winds and a high of 92.

Saturday night will be warm and sticky and under fair skies we will have a low of 75.

Sunday expect considerable sunshine humid breezy and hotter with a high of 93 and only isolated morning thundershowers.

Today and Saturday expect variable sunshine still hot and very humid with light winds in and around scattered thundershowers and highs both days of 92 and heat index values that top 100 each afternoon (outside of the rainy areas.)

Friday night rain ends around sunset with mainly clear skies and tranquil conditions after midnight with a warm steamy low of 76.
