Lat July Heat grips most of the Southwest. A Heat Advisory is in effect today for most of the Coastal Bend. Sunny and hot. High of 98 with a heat index of 109. You are advised not to over exhert your self during peak heating hours this afternoon. Tonight fair and warm. Low 76. Little change in the heat for the early part of the week. By Friday upper winds changed to a northwest flow. We can hope for a few thunderstorms to develop in North Texas and drift south into our area for the weekend. Be optimistic!

CORPUS CHRISTI- We had a few thundershowers pop up west of the city today with one particularly strong storm between Robstown and Driscoll dropping very heavy rain and producing angry skies. Dry high pressure is moving in overnight lasting through the later part of next week. Winds and temperatures are on the increase with rain reduced to nothing the next several days.

Tonight will be tranquil except windy near the coast, mainly clear warm and stuffy with a low of 76.

Saturday and Sunday expect sunny skies rather windy (gusts over 30 mph each afternoon) humid and baking hot with a high Saturday of 98 and 97 Sunday. The heat index will top out between 105 and 110 degrees late each afternoon.

Saturday night will be breezy stuffy and warmer with a low near 80.

The tropics are quiet for now.

CORPUS CHRISTI- A more stable atmosphere will gradually build back over the area resulting in hotter and drier conditions along with more wind over the weekend. Although we will have a stray shower today significant and more widespread rain will not return at least until the end of next week.

Today will be mostly sunny and very hot in and around a stray shower or two generally light to moderate winds and a high of 98 with a heat index of 106.

Tonight will be clear but a bit more breezy and warmer with a low of 76.

Saturday and Sunday will be windy but sunny and blazing hot with highs both days of 97 and the heat index reaching 110.

The tropics continue to be quiet.

Monday and Tuesday look hot & breezy here as another Summer cool front makes it into North Texas.

Tropical Depression #2 out in the Atlantic Ocean has falled apart as it moved into wind shear and a drier environment around the Lesser Antilles.

CORPUS CHRISTI- High pressure is keeping us very hot and dry. The "dry high" weakens a bit Wednesday and Thursday allowing a weak area of low pressure to reside along the Texas coast and produce a few isolated showers. Highs will come down slightly with the increased moisture mid-week then ramp up again by the end of this week.

Tonight will be mainly clear warm and sticky with decreasing winds and a low of 77.

Tuesday expect mainly sunny skies sweltering heat with a little less wind and continued dry with a high of 98.

Tuesday night will be mainly clear and calmer with a low 75.

Wednesday we will have isolated showers in and around mostly sunny skies and hot temperatures with a high of 97.

The heat index will back off from the last couple of days levels but still be in the 104 to 109 range.

There is a 10% chance an area of low pressure way out in the Atlantic Ocean will develop into a tropical depression.

CORPUS CHRISTI- We had a nice general rain today; unfortunately the eastern two thirds of the Coastal Bend generally had .25" or less including just .08" in the central part of Corpus Christi. Abundant leftover moisture combined with light winds a weak upper level disturbance and daytime heating will produce one more round of widely scattered thundershowers Saturday before it really dries out and heats up Sunday and virtually all of next week.

Saturday expect variable sunshine hot and humid in and around widely scattered thundershowers more near the coast in the morning gradually working inland during the afternoon and a high of 94.

Saturday night will be steamy but tranquil with a low of 76.

Sunday will be drying out and heating up with a gentle afternoon sea breeze, lots of sunshine humid and hotter and a high of 97.

The heat index maxes out between 104 and 112 each afternoon.

Tonight expect isolated thundershowers after midnight with decreasing winds lots of clouds very warm and humid and a low near 80.

Friday expect isolated thundershowers noticeably less wind humid and hot with a high of 94 under mostly cloudy skies.

Friday night and Saturday expect isolated thundershowers very humid and hot Saturday with a high of 96.

Heat and steamy weather expected for most of South Texas early this week as high pressure squeezes the atmosphere. An unusual July cold front will move into North Texas and trigger some thundershowers for Central Texas. The front is not likely to reach our area! It should stall out near Waco but some showers will slowly drift into the IH 10 corridor.
