CORPUS CHRISTI- Tropical storm Dolly going inland in Mexico far to our south in Mexico south of Tampico has pulled some of our rainmaking moisture away from south Texas and into the center of circulation. This will result in only isolated tropical showers through the weekend here and no widespread or likely rain. Our low temperatures will continue to be above normal while our high temperatures will be below normal as long as this tropical weather pattern persists.

Tonight expect a passing shower near the coast breezy warm and stuffy with a low of 79.

Wednesday we will have variable sunshine in and around widely scattered thundershowers breezy very humid and still hot with a high of 91.

Thursday expect only isolated thundershowers again with a mix of clouds and sunshine humid and a little hotter with a high of 92.

CORPUS CHRISTI- Nearly our entire forecast hinges on the movement, path and strength of the tropical depression #5 in the S.W. Gulf. The depression will probably become "Dolly" on Tuesday and move inland well south of here in Mexico on Wednesday and is no threat to this area. The system organizing will rob us of some of our rain as rich tropical moisture is drawn into the central of circulation and away from the Coastal Bend. In spite of that we will continue to see an increase in tropical moisture and some rain with Wednesday7 being the wettest.

Tonight will be breezy very warm and sticky with a low of 79 and an isolated shower near the coast.

Tuesday expect variable sunshine hot and humid in and around isolated thundershowers and a high of 93.

Tuesday night expect coastal showers warm and sticky with a low of 76.

Wednesday expect lots of clouds with scattered to numerous thundershowers ( a few with locally heavy rain) not as hot but very humid with a high of only 87.

Less rain on Thursday and very humid.

Labor Day will give us good weather for outdoor activities. Look for partly sunny skies with only a few isolated afternoon showers. High 94 in the city and 90 along the beaches. Tonight, fair skies and mild temperatures. Low 78. All eyes on the Gulf of Mexico with an easterly wave over the Yucatan. There is a good possibility that this will become a tropical storm in the next 48 hours. The system will move into Northern Mexico but tropical moisture will move into South Texas and give us a good chance for rain on Wednesday and Thursday.

Corpus Christi- Partly cloudy with a stray morning shower along the coast possible. Low: 78. Wind: SE 2-8mph.

Labor Day will be hot with lots of sun. High: 94. Heat Index: 104. Wind: SE 10-15mph.

We're watching the area low pressure in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. There is a medium chance of forming into a Tropical Depression in the Bay of Campeche into Tuesday.

This is aimed at coming ashore just north of Tampico, Mexico.

We will enjoy much needed scattered to numerous showers/thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday as lots of tropical moisture comes in from the Gulf of Mexico.

That low will fizzle out in the Mexican mountains, but enough moisture will remain for daily isolated showers through end of the week and weekend.

Highs in the lower 90s and upper 80s. Lows in the upper to mid 70s.

Wet Sunday with Scattered Showers http://www.kristv.com/news/wet-sunday-with-scattered-showers/ http://www.kristv.com/news/wet-sunday-with-scattered-showers/ Weather Sat, 30 Aug 2014 5:46:36 PM Meteorologist Matt Terhune, mterhune@kristv.com Wet Sunday with Scattered Showers

Corpus Christi- Mostly cloudy and warm overnight with coastal area getting scattered showers/thunderstorms early morning. Low: 77. Wind: SE 3-8mph.

Sunday mostly cloudy with showers/thunderstorms along the coast weaken late morning. Then additional isolated showers/thunderstorms form up inland. High: 93. Heat Index: 103. Wind: SE 10-15mph.

The area of low pressure giving us rain Sunday will dry out. A lot of sunshine breaking through the clouds for a great Labor Day. Only a slim chance of a stray sea breeze shower popping up.

We're watching the area low pressure in the western Caribbean Sea cross the Yucatan Peninsula and give us our rain chances back up to scattered starting Tuesday. That low will be weak and spread out as it comes ashore down near Tampico, Mexico. That will help to give us lots of Gulf of Mexico moisture to help give us rain!

The chance of rain fizzles out into next weekend.

Highs in the lower 90s and lows in the mid to upper 70s.

The rest of the tropics are quiet.

Much need shower activity will roll around the Coastal Bend for the next few days. A broad area of low pressure is moving toward the Texas coast. This will loosen the ridge of high pressure and allow the clouds to build into nice afternoon showers. This activity will last through Friday giving us a good shot of one to two inches of rain over the event. High near 90!

By the weekend, high pressure reaturns with hot and humid conditions for Sunday and Labor Day. Highs move back up to the upper 90's.

CORPUS CHRISTI- Yet another unusual summer cold front is making its way toward central Texas. It will stall over the Coastal Bend on Tuesday and then gradually dissipate. Tuesday we will have scattered showers and a few thunderstorms with locally heavy rain otherwise variable sunshine hot and humid and a high of 95.

Tuesday night expect scattered thundershowers and a rain-cooled low of 73.

There are rumors of a cold front in Texas in August. That's a little strange. Sunny, hot and humid today. High of 96. On Tuesday the weak front will be moving drifting down into the state. By Tuesday afternoon it will be along the IH10 corridor and helping to trigger a few showers in our region. By Wednesday the front will wash out and only a few lingering showers possible during the afternoon hours. By Thursday the hot and dry conditions will reestablish continuing the  dog days of summer for us.

CORPUS CHRISTI- A weak upper level disturbance to our south in northern Mexico will push additional tropical moisture our way resulting in isolated (but only isolated) showers for the Coastal Bend. There will not be enough aerial coverage to warrant changing outdoor activities as any interruptions due to rainfall would be very temporary. In the meantime temperatures will continue to be as hot as ever with a gradual reduction in our winds over the weekend thus lowering our heat index values from dangerous levels to just very hot levels of 100 to 105. The tropical Atlantic is quiet.

Saturday and Sunday expect mostly sunny skies in and around isolated thundershowers otherwise blistering heat with a high in Corpus Christi of 97 both days.

Saturday night will be mainly clear and seasonal with a low of 76.
