The participants will compete in four games involving speed and skill.  There will be a mini-burger eating contest, the elevator game, an obstacle course and the fan favorite, the dizzy bat race.  All games are subject to change.

Fearless Factor VI will be recorded and edited by the Buc Vision Crew of Miller High School.  It is scheduled to air during the last week of school before OFYP begins.

Several Miller Students recently volunteered at the Food Bank.  Ms. Pragati Bannerjee reported the following about this project.

This was actually a culmination activity to a service learning project called 'Serving Through Precalculus' that I took time out to design in the Fall Semester and implemented during the Spring Semester for my Precalculus students. Dr. Sarah Ives from TAMU-CC and I spent some time at the Food Bank to speak with the Branch Manager, Mr. James Burnett and the Agency Relations Officer- Ms. Debra Bruce. I collected copies of actual invoices and quarterly compliance reports to design my math lesson around these reports. The project was launched by Ms. Debra Bruce who came in to speak to my Precalculus and handed over a math problem that our students were to solve for the Food Bank. Some student groups did an excellent job in doing the comparative cost analysis for the transportation of the food from the Food Bank to the Pantries and vice versa and then submitted a report. Finally, we took a group of 14 Precalculus student volunteers with us to complete the service part of the project for four hours, from 8:00 -12:00, at the Food Bank of Corpus Christi on Krill Street. We are proud of these 14 juniors and seniors who worked hard in two teams this past Saturday (April 27, 2013) for four hours. Together they packed 6000 pounds of food in 177 boxes and sorted out several thousand pounds of food in the freezer section.

Let's share with our students the importance of a College Education and encourage them to go to college.

Students are also being asked to wear their favorite College shirts.

GENTX Day honors those students of Generation TX who are graduating seniors. Communities in Texas are joining together to celebrate as these students take the next step in starting their career training by entering college.

Francisco Solis placed first in the 800 meter at the Area Track Meet.  He is now headed to the Regional Meet.  Congratulations!

Miller Senior Renoir Knox is heading to the Texas 4A Golf State Championship in Austin at the Onion Creek Golf Club. He travels Sunday to compete on Monday, April 29th and Tuesday, April 30.

Knox has had a successful high school career earning the following titles:

Kingsville 2012 Tournament Champion
Carroll High Invitational 2012 Tournament Champion
2012 District Champion
2013 District Champion
2012 Regional Qualifier
2013 Regional Qualifier
2013 Texas State Qualifier

Knox will be attending Oklahoma-Wesleyan University in the Fall of 2013. He will Major in Business and where he will soar with the Eagles and compete in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Miller Senior Adrien Trevino is the recipient of the Corpus Christi Masonic Lodge Lamar Medal and Scholarship.  Adrien receives a $1000 scholarship and will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station.

Sergio Melendez finished 7th at the Area Meet in Alice on April 19th. He qualified for this meet at district.

Miller's Renior Knox won the individual title at the District 31-4A Tournament in Alice.  Knox scored a 73 and a 71 for a total of 144 beating Ray's Rudy Trevino by one stroke.  He will now advance to the Regionals in San Antonio.
