WOODSBORO - According to the coaching staff and a few very proud old-timers the last time Woodsboro began a season 3-0, was in 1985. Nearly 10-years prior to the birth of any current player on the roster, so when I say the town is excited, I mean they're excited.

"It's an incredible feeling to break history and we plan to keep on just destroying the record books, said Offensive Tackle Josh Martinez.

"It's a great feeling having the fans come and be anxious for Friday Night's to watch us play," added Quarterback Tyler Quesada.

The (3-0) Eagles have been pretty blunt both on and off the field. During the preseason they said point blank, they were going to knock teams around this year, and these kids have kept their word.

Through three games they have piled on 114 points, it took them 9-games to manage that total in 2011. They've also won three games and counting, that's one more than they won all of last season.

"We're gonna do good no matter who we play, but I think everyone is buying in to us going undefeated," said Running Back DeBray Bonner.

First year Head Coach Wade Miller, a former assistant at Flour Bluff, told me coaching a small school has always been a dream, and so far this has been a dream season.

"We are out here doing something teams haven't done in a long time and we hear people telling us stories of when they did it and it's a great thing," said Quesada.

Next up for Woodsboro is Kenedy on the road on Friday Night, if the Eagles can win that game they will be 4-0 for the first time since 1980.

"Hopefully after this game if we win the rest of the State of Texas will know that Woodsboro is here to stay," said Martinez.
