  CORPUS CHRISTI - A local man is finally heading to prison after being convicted of his 8th DWI charge.
  
  Judge Sandra Watts sentenced 50 year old Israel Vela to 60 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to DWI charges this morning.
  
  Vela was arrested on his first D.W.I. in 1989. He was arrested on his eighth D.W.I. in December. According to police, his blood alcohol level was 0.231. That's nearly three times the legal limit.
