    The City of Corpus Christi is getting some help moving forward with a seawater desalination project. The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved Thursday $2.75 million in financial assistance for the city through a deferred financing loan from the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas (SWIFT).  The City could save approximately $458,000 over the life of the loan by using the SWIFT program, according to a press release from the TWDB.     A local artist unveiled his latest work yesterday - a 30 by 60 foot mural depicting a sea turtle rising to the surface to take air. His canvas? The south wall of the Braswell Building. He said it's symbolic of the new life he envisions and hopes to inspire for Corpus Christi - the place he "loves" and is "proud to call home."

    AEP is reporting a power outage that is affecting over 1,700 households and businesses in Corpus Christi. The outage run along the north side of SPID to Pharaoh Drive and from Ennis Joslin to Nile.
