Cardenas Pleads Guilty to Attempted Carjacking with Pruning Shears

CORPUS CHRISTI - The man who used pruning shears during an attempted carjacking on North Beach is headed to prison for up to 10 years.

Ruben Cardenas, 24, threatened a waitress outside Blackbeard's restaurant. When he was unsuccessful police say he ran into the restaurant and threatened other wait staff.

Cardenas entered a guilty plea on aggravated robbery charges.
