    Saturday is national prescription drug take-back day. The Drug Enforcement Agency set up camp at various locations around the city where people could turn in their expired or unused drugs. DEA officials say through programs like this, they hope to offer a safe and responsible way to dispose of drugs to avoid them ending up in the wrong hands such as children.

    Officers have shut down a portion of I37 from Chaparral to the Highway 181 interchange after a high speed chase ended in a crash. The driver was being chased by Portland police and flew across the Harbor Bridge at speeds topping 100mph we are told.  The driver spun out on the curve coming off of the bridge and was immediately surrounded at gun point by police officers. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

    Water Rest  Shade Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. Drink water every 15 minutes, even if you don't feel thirsty. Avoid coffee or alcohol. Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothing.  Stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day. If you do work in the heat, use the buddy system and take frequent breaks. Don't leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles especially without a/c.
