    Traffic was delayed this morning after portions of Holly Road had to be shut down due to an accident. A mini-van and grey sedan collided at the intersection of Holly and Weber just after 7 a.m., according to officers with the Corpus Christi police department. The vehicles both suffered major damage but only minor injuries were reported. West bound lanes of Holly at Weber were closed for about 40 minutes while the accident was cleared. Holly has since reopened.

    The Aransas Pass Police Department announced today that they have fired a School Resource Officer for having an improper relationship with an adult student. Aransas Pass Police Chief Eric Blanchard said in a release today that SRO Robert Brake was released from APPD after an internal investigation substantiated claims from Aransas Pass ISD Officials of a relationship between the officer and the adult student.

    If you're traveling down Brawner Parkway, watch where you drive. A handful of people on the 4000 block claim nails and other sharp objects have been hidden in pot holes near one of the road's speed bumps, resulting in many flat tires.

    A resident, who didn't want to be identified, lives in the home in front of those speed bumps. He says within the past month, he has seen more loose items on the roadway.

    More than 100 green sea turtles were released back into the gulf today after being nursed back to health.  The turtles were found cold-stunned in area waters following last week's winter storm, and taken to the Texas State Aquarium Wildlife Rescue and Recovery Center at the request of the Padre Island National Seashore Division of Sea Turtle Science & Recovery.  Recovery staff were able to warm the sea turtles to raise their body temperature and provided them with addi...

    Many storm victims are still without a home nearly three-and-a-half months out from Harvey. But there are some positive signs that housing will soon be on the way. What looks like hundreds of trailers and RV’s are lined up at Chase Field, a former naval air station in Beeville.

    A lot of those homes are mission ready, meaning once they get the green light, they will be distributed to households in need.

    Classes at Tuloso Midway High School have been canceled for the remainder of the day due to a power outage. The outage is due to a blown transformer, a spokeperson for Tuloso-Midway ISD says.     Friday’s cold front brought both snow and sea turtles to the Texas State Aquarium. According to the aquarium, 101 green sea turtles were admitted to the Texas State Aquarium’s Wildlife Rescue and Recovery Center between Friday and Sunday after being found stranded due to cold-stunning, a hypothermic reaction that sea turtles can develop when exposed to cold water for a prolonged amount of time.

    Corpus Christi Police are asking for help in locating a local girl who was reported as a runaway on December 9. According to police, 12-year-old Naomi Henderson may be in danger. Police say she is new to the area and does not have any know acquaintances in the area. Naomi is described as 5-feet 7-inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

    Two men flying in an ultralight had a close call this afternoon. The men were flying just off of Padre Island, near the Gulf Stream Condos when the aircraft's engine died shortly after takeoff.  The pilot and passenger were able to land safely in the gulf, but had to wait about 30 minutes for rescue crews to get to them.  Neither of the men were hurt, and lifeguards were there to help them pull their ultralight back to shore.

    The City of Robstown has confirmed that Robstown Fire Chief Ricardo Gonzalez was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated early Sunday morning.  City official say that Gonzalez was arrested near Upshaw Boulevard and Avenue D in Robstown at 1:59 a.m.on December 10.

The Chow Train, a non-profit based out of San Antonio wants to make sure those families still celebrate the holiday with a Christmas tree and trimmings. On Saturday, the organization handed out nearly 100 trees to households in Aransas Pass.
