    It was a dog lover's paradise as over two-dozen dogs, and their owners got a chance to have fun in a pool without leashes. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department's held its annual "Doggy Dip" event over at the H-E-B Pool at 1520 Shely Street. Dogs were able to roam, jump, and swim anywhere in the pool from 10:00 am through 1:00 pm Saturday.

    It was a dog lover's paradise as over two-dozen dogs, and their owners got a chance to have fun in a pool without leashes.     Residents of a west side neighborhood called 911 after gunshots rang out Saturday afternoon. Police say the drive-by shooting happened before 2:00 pm in the 2400 block of Niagara and Segrest Street. Lieutenant Edward Longoria, with the Corpus Christi Police Department, says they were able to track the suspect's vehicle within ten minutes of the shooting.

    Border Patrol agents at a Falfurrias checkpoint say they found sixty illegal immigrants inside a refrigerated produce truck. The discovery happened early Saturday morning after a K-9 alerted officers to search inside a vehicle after inspection.

    Large plumes of smoke were reported today just north of Calallen, as a large patch of the Nueces River Delta was burned. However, the fire was part of  a planned, controlled burn, and officials at the Nueces Delta Preserve say they’re going to do it again tomorrow.

    DPS Troopers have released the name of a young man who was killed early Sunday morning. The accident happened Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 6:15 a.m. on State Highway 16, six miles south of Freer in Duval County. Troopers say 18-year-old Sergio Gabriel Garza, from Freer Texas, was killed after his truck left the road way and overturned multiple times.
