    Cowboys qb Dak Prescott  is all too familiar with cancer, having lost his mother to the terrible disease. That is why he is joining an awareness campaign called ready, raise and rise hoping to invite people to show their inner power to rise up against cancer. Alan Harwell visited with Prescott via satellite about the Cowboys and his campaign to help people fight the disease mentally and physically.

    It has been ten years since Calallen became the first area high school to get artificial turf at its football stadium. Now, it's time to replace it thanks to a 40 million dollar plus bond issue that was passed by voters back in November. A new all weather track is also being installed at Phil Danaher Field.     The University Interscholastic League will use instant replay at all UIL Football State Championship games beginning in 2018.  According to the UIL, Texas High School Football follows NCAA rules, and each year the UIL reviews exceptions to NCAA football rules through the UIL Football Rules Committee.
