Now, it's time to replace it thanks to a 40 million dollar plus bond issue that was passed by voters back in November. A new all weather track is also being installed at Phil Danaher Field.     A downtown restaurant owner has a major cleanup on his hands today due to recent rains. The owner of the South Beach grill on South Chaparral Street says that for the past three years, every time there’s a heavy rain, sewage backs up into his restaurant.

    Two roadways in Jim Wells County have been closed due to high water. Rickey Daly with TxDOT says FM 2508 from County Road 481 to FM 1352 outside of Ben Bolt is closed due to flooding.  FM 1538 from SH 285 to SH 281 is closed west of Falfurrias. TxDOT expects both roads to be closed until 6 p.m. or later. Drivers are advised to use an alternate route.

    Border Patrol agents in Falfurrias took more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine off the streets in two separate busts recently. On Saturday, agents assigned to the Falfurrias Checkpoint referred a 2016 Mini Cooper for further inspection area after a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to the vehicle.

    A tropical wave will continue to advance slowly onto the Texas coast and bring some beneficial rain to the area over the next three days with the majority of the rain falling on Tuesday and Wednesday. Some areas will get more than others due to the nature of the tropical showers. Tonight will be very humid and warm with showers redeveloping near the coast and a low of 76. Tuesday expect
