    The remnants of Harvey have moved into the eastern Bay of Campeche and although thunderstorm activity has increased over the northern part of the system, there is still no well-defined center of circulation, according to the National Hurricane Center's (NHC) 1 a.m. update.     Back in December, the Texas Animal Health Commission confirmed the presence of cattle fever ticks in Live Oak County. That led to more than 500,000 acres in Texas to be under fever tick quarantines. State and federal animal control officials say the outbreak of fever ticks is a troubling and costly burden for ranchers, government agencies, and the cattle industry.

    KRIS 6 News confirmed Wednesday morning that Sunoco LP is planning significant layoffs. 1,100 Sunoco stores are being sold to 7-Eleven Inc. in a multi-billion dollar deal, according to a spokesperson for Sunoco.     Is "Harvey" Coming?Is "Harvey" Coming?

    Although Harvey has not become a tropical storm yet, all forecast indicate that the system will approach the  Texas coast in the next 3 days. Right now the winds do not seem to be an issue with peak forecast winds at 39 mph. However significant rainfall is expected along the coast. Depending on the track , most of the heavy rain will be along the coast with less rain in Western areas, west of Hwy 281.

Last week, Chief Investigative Reporter Rick Spruill questioned staff members to find out if the city paid for work that wasn't done and today (Tuesday) council members weighed in giving staff members some advice about  future projects. Carolyn Vaughn said, "So really the change order was done after Channel 6 investigated this?"

    The Corpus Christi Police Department has just released images of a vehicle who's occupants may have witnessed a hit-and-run accident that killed a one-year-old boy on Monday. The CCPD says they are hoping to speak to the driver of what appears to be a maroon Jeep Cherokee or similar vehicle. The vehicle appears to have some sort of extended cargo carrier attached to the back. The CCPD said in a statement that this vehicle was traveling on Everhart Road near Holly at about 6:43 a.m. M...

    A seven-year-old boy is the latest confirmed victim from a terrorist attack in Barcelona. Julian Cadman, who was a dual Australian-British citizen, was hit by the van that plowed into pedestrians on Thursday. He was walking in the area with his mom, who was injured in the attack. They got separated in the chaos and she reportedly told hospital workers to look for Julian before she lost consciousness.

Fire officials say the blaze started around 5:00 p.m. Saturday evening in Bastrop, which is about 30 miles Southeast of Austin. They say the wildfire has burned about 40 acres and is 10-percent contained. Officials say about 30 homes are threatened, and residents have been ordered to evacuate.
